The course booked is for the date and time agreed on initial booking and as confirmed in writing via email, Facebook or WhatsApp, may be cancelled within 14 working days from the date of this confirmation in writing to the admin. In any event this notice must arrive before the course start date. If booking a course due to commence within 14 working days (e.g., a short notice booking), we must have your agreement to commence the booking as this will mean your normal 14 working day cancellation right will not apply.
Each course includes one to one car tuition with an Approved Driving Instructor. The course will start and finish at the address agreed with your instructor.
If at any time the pupil chooses to finish the course early, arrive late, or miss any days out, without 72 hours’ notice, no proportion of payment made for the course will be refunded, or will any hours be given in lieu of those hours missed.
We shall have the right to use or substitute any Approved Driving Instructor and/or vehicle for the purpose of giving all or some of the tuition on the course for whatever reason. The pupil agrees that they are duly licensed to drive the tuition vehicle and are able to read a number plate at a distance of 20.5 metres with or without aided vision. We shall have liability to the pupil under this agreement in respect of any injury, loss or damage arising from the use of the tuition vehicle if there is found to be negligence regarding the contracted instructors’ vehicle not meeting required safety and maintenance requirements
Training for the practical syllabus is delivered by Approved Driving Instructors who teach by the Government guidelines. We will aim to cover all the necessary topics to help the pupil achieve test standard by the end of the course. There is no guarantee implied written or otherwise that we can get you to test standard. This is dependent on the pupil’s ability.
In the case that you are not ready we can offer additional lessons to achieve this or private practice and then an assessment by one of our instructors. And further lessons agreed is between the pupil and the instructor and is no longer the responsibility of Local Intensive, but we are there for guidance if needed.
The Deposit is only fully refundable if:
Local Intensive have started to work on your booking but neither an instructor or practical test have been secured that meet your reasonable requirements within 30 days of making your booking or passing your theory test with Local Intensive. If you fail to respond (accept or reject) to 2 suitable practical or theory date offers we will cancel your course and retain your deposit refunding any other monies paid.
Any personal data provided to Local Intensive by you will be held and processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and will be used as follows:
In the event of any complaint about the services offered by Local Intensive or their instructors, you must in the first instance report this by telephoning the head office on 07917525116 during normal office hours and speak to the Customer Services Department. The procedure is to record complaints in writing at the time and to deal with issues immediately. We must be given every opportunity to deal with a complaint whilst you are with us on the course. It becomes more difficult to collate information concerning a complaint after the event or if you have left the course without telling us. We will be happy to talk to parents or other third parties about your progress on the course but please note because of Data Protection we are not able to do this without your express written permission. These terms shall not limit the company’s liability resulting from its negligence nor shall they affect any statutory rights, which you may have as a consumer.
Local Intensive has a zero tolerance policy regarding abuse, harassment, or violence whether physical or verbal towards its staff members or the Driving Instructors and reserves the right to cancel your booking in the event. Your deposit will be non-refundable. Up to one hundred percent of the remainder of the Fees may also be non-refundable to cover costs already incurred by Local Intensive or your Driving Instructor.
Under no circumstances can the lesson be conducted if our instructor believes you may be under the influence of any alcohol, drugs or medication that could impair your ability to drive. The lesson will be cancelled and charged in full.
We ask all pupils to wear a mask on lessons. They must provide their own mask. If they do not have a mask the lesson may not go ahead unless the pupil is medically exempt.
We will ensure all cars are clean thoroughly between pupils and windows remain sightly open for ventilation as per the DVSA guidelines.
We ask all pupils to let us know of any symptoms they may have or positive COVID test result.
If you were to contract COVID during your course or before your test date or on the day of your test, you may lose your driving test fee. DVSA cancellation policy is 3 working days notice, in this case you would have to pay the driving test fee again. We would endeavour to rearrange the course to best of our ability, dependent on instructor availability and test dates within a reasonable time frame.
If additional lessons were needed there may be an extra cost to the customer depending on time frame.
If our instructors contracted COVID we have other instructors we can use to help cover the course or test date either using the car you have used for the course or another vehicle, in very rare circumstances we would rearrange the course and test.
